Winnie Palmer Ultrasound

We had an appointment at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies on Thursday for a detailed ultrasound.  At this ultrasound they measured all the part of the babies and took detailed pictures to make sure everything was growing and functioning properly.  All of the measurements were great and everything looked perfect for both girls!

They were both moving around like crazy, which was good to see!  I feel the one on top (Baby B) kick a lot but I don't feel the one on bottom (Baby A) move as much.  I was glad to see Baby A a movin' and a shakin'!  Baby A was actually a little bigger than Baby B, but not by much.  Baby A weighs 13 ounces and Baby B weighs 12 ounces.  Both of their heartrates were 144 bpm.  And the genders were checked again....and still both GIRLS!

There was some concern with the chance of my cervix thinning already, due to some backpain and other issues.  But it was checked, and all is well.  I was told to just keep in mind the signs of pre-term labor.

Baby A was shy and wouldn't flip over to show us her profile.

Sneak Peek at the Twins' Room

Last weekend, we were busy at getting the girls' nursery together.  The walls have been painted.  I chose a tan/sand color for the entire room to go with the "beachy" theme.  I went back and forth about colors.  At first I thought about pink with tan, then green with tan, and then blue with tan.  We got samples of them all (in several different shades) and painted them on the wall to see what it would look like.  After a few days of thinking about it, my boldness turned into simpleness and I decided to just use tan.  I knew that adding the chair rail would dress it up and give it a simple, classy look.  And I also wanted soothing and relaxing colors....just like laying on the beach!

So, on Saturday, the men went to work at hanging the chair rail.
This is the room...."work in progress"

Justin's dad, my dad, and Justin hard at work!

I was so happy with how the chair rail turned out!  The guys did an excellent job!

Deciding how to arrange the furniture, with a little help from Joey. Haha!

Once the chair rail was hung, we moved in the furniture.  It was a little tighter than I thought!  We got both of those pieces of furniture from Craigslist (Which I am lovin' lately by the way!).  The changing table/dresser was $25.00 and the armoire was $30.00.  The armoire is missing a door, which my dad can fix...or I can just add baskets or I even thought about a curtain.  But after everything was brought into the room, it seemed a bit tight, knowing that we had TWO cribs that still needed to fit also!  So I may not use the amoire for thier room.  I'll have to see once we get the cribs in.

All in a day's work.....It's a good start!

I moved the armoire to the other wall for now.  Leaving a nice corner to put the glider in.  We got the glider on Craigslist that ended up belonging to someone from our neighborhood.  Justin didn't have to go far to pick up that one, which he was very happy about!  We got it for $70.00 and it is practically brand new, with a tag still on the back!

Now all we need is the put the cribs together and finish decorating!

Introducing our girls.........

Tenley Jane & Harper Nell

We have chosen their names!  I chose Tenley first, I had wanted it even before I even new I was pregnant.  And if you watched "The Bachelor," yes, that is where I got it.  Ha!  I have loved it ever since I heard it!  Justin picked out Harper's name.  I have to admit, it was inspired by Kelly's Korner and her daughter named Harper.  I read Kelly's blog and constantly tell Justin about her and Harper.  I was sooo excited when Justin suggested that name, because I love it!

Their middle names where chosen very easily.  Jane is in honor of my cousin, Staci Jane.  Nell is my mom's middle name.  And if you put Jane and Nell together you get my middle name:  Janell!  It's perfect!

We can't wait to meet our sweet girls, Tenley and Harper!

Calling All Single Ladies!

Every Friday, Kelly's Korner does Show Us Your Life and I have always wanted to join in.  Today's topic is Show Us Your Single Guys, so I thought what better day to start!

This is my brother, Josh!

He is 33 and lives in Frisco, TX.  He works in Dallas for Southwest Airlines.  He has never been married and is very hardworking, caring, and considerate.  He enjoys golf, fishing and traveling.  He is very family-oriented and visits Florida often to see us and our parents.  He is an amazing big brother and an awesome uncle to Makenna!  I pray for him to meet someone who makes him happy, to share his life with and start a family.  (I can't wait to have a sister-in-law!)  I know he will be a wonderful husband and father one day.

Here is Josh with Makenna....She loves her Uncle!

18 Week Appointment

Wednesday this week, I had a doctor's appointment.  It was SOOOO busy in the office that morning.  There were pregnant women everywhere!  Ha!  Sometimes when it is so busy like that, they put you in a room without an ultrasound machine.  But because I am having twins, the nurse made sure I had the ultrasound room.....gotta love that special treatment!  I was glad I got to see the girls.  It's very reassuring that everything is ok.  This time they were flip-flopped, head to feet - head to feet.  I hope they aren't kicking each other too hard!  Ha!  Our next appointment is in 2 weeks at Winnie Palmer Hospital.  I am excited about that appointment because it will be a detailed ultrasound!

3D/4D Ultrasound at BabyCheckers

Last Saturday, we went to Baby Checkers in Orlando to get a 3D/3D Ultrasound.  The owner, Dr. Maria, was super nice and spent sooooo much time with us!  She talked about a mile a minute and was great at explaining everything to us and double checking the genders...several times, for Justin's sake. Ha!

Our main purpose of this ultrasound was to find out the gender of our babies!  Purpose complete.  We are having twin GIRLS!!

I also just wanted a 3D ultrosound of the twins.  I never did that with Makenna, and I figured that this time, I will have several more ultrasounds towards the end, and then we'll get to see the REAL things!  So I thought that I would like to get the 3D ultrasound done now instead of later.  And it was a great way to find out the genders too!

Here are the gender determination pictures done in 2D:

Baby A - GIRL

Baby B - GIRL

Both heart beats are strong! One was at 153 bpm, the other at 147 bpm.

The babies are growing at a great rate. Both are pretty equal in their development, which is a great thing. The doctor's said they would be concerned if one was growing at a much more rapid speed than the other. But our girls are doing great! One measured at 15 weeks and 6 days, the other measured at 15 weeks and 5 days. On the day of the appointment, I was 16 weeks. So, they are growing just fine!

A few 3D pictures from the ultrasound:

Here is a back shot of one of them.
And this is a side shot, you can see head, ear, arm, and her hand near her face.

Here are our girls!  Aren't they precious?  Cuddled up so cute!
